Gentoo Linux on Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook E8010

Kernel 2.6.11-gentoo-r6 ok .config, dmesg, lsmod, lspci
Graphics 6.8.2, Intel i865 chipset ok;
when booting have to run 855resolution before starting X (to add 1400x1050 resolution to BIOS)
have no second monitor to test secondary video output - would actually need it for presentations (beamer)

Sound ALSA: Intel/SiS/nVidia/AMD/ALi AC97 Controller (intel8x0) working only with sound as module see kernel .config
ACPI ok, compiled into kernel; couldn't patch suspend2 to this kernel so cannot use suspend to disk (hibernate) feature;
also using gcc-3.3 has no support for pentium-m so still running in power hungry mode

USB uhci, ehci, (ohci) support ok see kernel .config, lsusb
Framebuffer FB_VESA_STD, FB_VESA_TNG, FB_I810, FB_INTEL Couldn't make boot splash working. Anyone has any idea how to use and configre one of these:
  • VESA VGA graphics support
  • Intel 810/815 support
  • Intel 830M/845G/852GM/855GM/865G support

CD-RW/DVD-R read ok; couldn't make usb drive work with xcdroast fstab
Touchpad + stick mouse (ps2 or usb) working ok simultaneously with touch pad, but stick is not working see xorg.conf
Network 1000 Mbit Broadcom Tigon3 compiled into kernel see kernel .config
Firewire not used: have no device to play with
Bluetooth not used: have no device to play with
Modem not used: have no device to play with
IRDA not used: have no device to play with
